inspire research analysed bibliometric data on Austrian publications from 2013 to 2022 with regard to visibility, resonance and cooperation with companies and compared publications whose underlying research was funded by different funding organisations. For the comparisons we analysed information on ERC-, MSCA-, H2020-, ERDF-, FWF-, CDG-, COMET- and other FFG-funded research publications in the bibliometric datasets.

Postdocs are a central target group of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's programmes and sponsorship schemes. In order to succeed to provide qualified applicants with tailored and attractive offers in the global competition for the "best young minds" in science, inspire research is supporting the Humboldt Foundation in the development and implementation of a postdoctoral needs analysis. The Humboldt Foundation would like to use the needs analysis to get to know the current generation of academic postdocs more systematically in order to be able to address and close any gaps in the current range of programmes. The results of the needs analysis are incorporated into the Foundation's strategic programme development processes.
